To apply for a scholarship to Ecojustice Camp, simply send an email to Camp Director Dan Harper email@example.com saying why you need a scholarship this year. Please see below for the kinds of scholarship money we have to give out. We want to work with you to make sure your child can attend Eco-justice Camp! (Note that we have limited scholarship funds, so please apply as early as possible.)
Scholarships for 2017
(1) Ecojustice Camp has budgeted a limited amount of funds to be used for full and partial scholarships. Priority is given to families with financial need, and to persons from historically marginalized groups.
(2) Life sciences C.I.T. scholarship — Due to a generous donor, there is one full scholarship for a Counselor-in-training (C.I.T.) who is considering a career in the life sciences (biology, ecology, etc.), or who is seriously interested in one or more of the life sciences. This scholarship will cover both a week of Upper Camp, and a week as C.I.T.
(3) Due to the generosity of the members and friends of our sponsoring organization, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto (UUCPA), there are full and partial scholarships for UUCPA children, and for children in the Navigators program sponsored by UUCPA. Children must be enrolled in Sunday school classes for gr. 2-5 as of January 1, 2017, and/or in the Navigators program. Priority is given to families with financial need.
We hope to allow all campers to attend Ecojustice Camp, regardless of need.
You can help us achieve this goal by contributing to our scholarship fund. Your donation will be fully tax deductible, because our sponsoring organization, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
We invite you to contribute at any level you can. Here is what your donation will provide:
$15 will fund one hour of subsidized after care for one camper
$60 will fund an overnight experience for one camper
$180 will fund one Counselor-in-training (gr. 6-8)
$365 will fund one basic registration for one camper
For $600, you can fund a complete scholarship covering basic registration, 3.5 hours of aftercare for five days, and an overnight for one camper — and you can name the scholarship after a loved one, or after an ecojustice hero or heroine.
If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, make your check out to “UUCPA” and write “Ecojustice Camp donation” on the memo line. Mail your check to:
